The story behind this little corner of the web.
Host-Island.com has been around since 2004 — back then it was a web hosting company with a tropical theme and, frankly, a lot of personality. The name stuck, the island stayed, and now it's been given a new life as something more personal.
"Good food, good stories, good vibes — served fresh."
This site is a collection of two things I genuinely care about: recipes I've saved and made over the years, and honest takes on restaurants worth talking about. No sponsored content, no affiliate links, no algorithms — just food I actually ate and food I actually cook.
The Kitchen is where the recipes live. Some are old favorites, some are things I stumbled into, some were passed along by someone who knew what they were doing. They're here now so they don't get lost.
Island Eats is the restaurant review side. I eat out, I have opinions, and I write them down. You'll find the kind of review a friend would give you — what's worth ordering, what to skip, and whether I'd go back.
More coming all the time. Pull up a chair.
The original Host-Island.com was a web hosting company with an Easter Island theme — Castaway plans, Vacationer plans, the whole bit. It was genuinely fun. Two decades later, the island is back. Different vibe, same spirit.
